This fall, the College Football Playoff Foundation and the Myrtle Beach Bowl will be partnering with Extra Yard for Teachers to honor local Horry County teachers at the elementary school level. This will be the second year that the Myrtle Beach Bowl will be honoring local teachers, starting last year.
The teachers will be nominated by the sponsors and executive committee of the Myrtle Beach Bowl. Teachers honored are required to have a full-time status.
The first two winners were Brittany Hines (5th grade) out of Carolina Forest Elementary and Skylar Riordan (kindergarten) out of Myrtle Beach Early Childhood.
Extra Yard for Teachers has raised over $57 million dollars in support of education and supported over 500,000 teachers nationwide. The College Football Playoff Foundation is the 501(c)3 non profit organization serving as the community engagement arm of the College Football Playoff and works in partnership with institutions of higher education, sports organizations, corporations and nonprofits to support educators and improve U.S. student outcomes. Extra Yard for Teachers is the foundation’s primary platform.
The Myrtle Beach Bowl is set for December 18 at 2:30 p.m.
