MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Wrapping up his first year as the Tulsa starting quarterback, redshirt junior Davis Brin entered the Myrtle Beach Bowl record books in the second annual game with 285 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns in the 30-17 victory over Old Dominion. Brin completed 22 of 34 passes and led the Golden Hurricane to hold the ball for just under 40 minutes and 35 first downs.
“It means a lot,” Brin said after the game. “Progressing throughout the season, going through the ups and downs. It took every single one of us tonight, I wouldn’t be where I’m at without the offensive line blocking the way they did and protecting me.”
Brin passed for touchdowns of 23 and four yards, finding senior wide receiver Josh Johnson the most with eight receptions for 129 yards.
“I thought he really saw the field well,” said Tulsa head coach Philip Montgomery. “He was throwing really accurately and taking what the defense gave him. The ball is touching his hands every play and tonight I thought he was really locked in and focused and made some big plays.”
The native of Boerne, Texas finished the year with 18 passing touchdowns and 3,269 yards in his third season in the program.
